Comprised of members from professional orchestras such as The Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and other ensembles, comes Tonic String Quartet.

Tonic are an experienced string quartet with a passion for music and a flair for performance. They specialise in weddings, functions, funerals, recording sessions and corporate events.

Directed by violinist Dan Russell, Tonic’s musicians are some of the finest young string players in Australia, having won awards in both performance and chamber music. The traditional string quartet consists of two violins, viola and cello, however, Tonic are also available as a string trio, duo or solo.

About the director
Dan Russell, Violin

Dan has played the violin since the age of 5 and has won several awards including the Faith Court Violin Scholarship, First Prize North of Perth Music Festival, First Prize WA Music Teachers’ Association Concert Awards and two time winner of the Faith Court Chamber Music Prize. Receiving High Distinctions for both 3rd and 4th year recitals in a Bachelor of Music at UWA he has also completed an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts {Music} at WAAPA.

Dan studied under the direction of well known violinists Paul Wright, Peter Tanfield and Alan Bonds but has also had lessons and master classes with famous violinist and teachers such as Mincho Minchev, David Takeno and Prof. Sylvio Krause in Germany and England.

Dan has performed in Europe and China and has worked with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra in Sydney’s Opera House. He travels abroad with the Kammer Philharmonie Köln in Germany, Spain, England, Wales, Ireland, France, Belgium, New Zealand and Australia. Dan is the founding director of Tonic String Quartet.
